Goals

Think Blue Massachusetts challenges current behaviors that negatively impact our rivers, beaches, and bays, and offers simple solutions that anyone can adopt.  The goal of the Think Blue campaign is to improve coastal water quality by reducing polluted stormwater runoff through increased citizen awareness and action, and to increase community willingness to support stormwater management.

We strive for new and unique approaches that reach across all media, and innovative techniques such as point-of-purchase displays, promotions, and community events.  Think Blue follows the principles of social marketing by targeting specific audiences and seeking to change specific, measurable behaviors.

   We strive for new and

   unique approaches...and

   innovative techniques...

Think Blue
Massachusetts is a growing campaign both in terms of its elements and its geographic scope.  We’re guided by our research, but we’re fueled by our passion -- and the contributions of the Think Blue Coalition.  The campaign is continually being refined and improved as more Teams, Sponsors and Supporters join the Think Blue Coalition.

As the leaders of this high-energy campaign, the Massachusetts Bays Estuary Association has three objectives for 2008-2010: (1) support Massachusetts residents, organizations, and communities who wish to bring Think Blue to their backyard through the Think Blue Toolbox, (2) focus on fundraising efforts to support and expand this major education and outreach effort; and (3) bring the greater community to the cause through high profile media events and advertising.
